Back in the 70’s I was the facility manager for BR Machine, and I had a young lad working for me (Erwin Dently). Erwin was a good kid but he had one big flaw: he called out sick too much. One day in July he called out sick and I saw hiim getting pop and a burger at Ollie’s with his friends.
After that day I had to let him go because he wasn’t committed to his career at BR Machine e
Michael Penix (QB from Washington) reminds me of Erwin (and that’s not good).
A lot of scouts (like me) are concerned about how much time he missed. It makes us question his commitment to football, and to make matters worse, he sat out of the senior bowl.
LOOKING MORE AND MORE LIKE ERWIN TO ME?!! yEP!!
The games I’ve seen him play, he throws a good ball, better than most QB prospects this draft. But i don’t know if he’s committed to his career in the NFL.
